SAID NO!
Once upon a time there was a big family, the Mudds.
One day Mrs. Mudd bought an apple tree in the market and brought it home. “Look
at this lovely apple tree!” she said to her big family. “Would anybody like to
help me to plant it in the garden? ”But
everybody said no!
Mr. Mudd was
very busy reading his newspaper. John and Sally were doing their homework. Dick
was making a pirate ship. Betty was washing her doll. So Mrs. Mudd had to plant
the apple tree all by herself.
In summer the sun was very hot and the earth was dry.
The leaves on the apple tree began to go yellow. “Look at our poor little apple
tree“ said Mrs. Mudd to her big family. “Would anybody like to help me water
it?” But everybody said no! They all were very busy. So Mrs. Mudd had to water
the little apple tree all by herself.
In autumn the apple tree was covered with big juicy
apples. “Look at all the apples on our tree!“ said Mrs. Mudd. “Would anybody like to help me
pick them?” But everybody said no! So she had to pick the apples all by
herself. After that Mrs. Mudd made a wonderful apple pie. “Would anybody like
to eat the apple pie?” she asked. “Oh, yes”, was the answer.
